It’s important for SharePoint administrator to know when configuration changes have been made to the farm. The embedded snapshot service will make periodic snapshots of SharePoint farm configuration allowing administrators to easily compare changes made between the two selected snapshots.

There are 2 types of snapshots:

• Manual snapshots you can create anytime with one click
• Automatic snapshots created with a wizard that can be set to run periodically

You can compare any two snapshots, regardless of time-span or type.

Email notifications with configuration changes

When automatic snapshots are set-up, you can also use automatic email notifications about the latest snapshots. Choose if you want to receive an email only when changes are made. The email can contain full farm documentation and /or document containing differences overview only.
