Compare SharePoint Farms

This article explains how you can use Compare Farms wizard to compare different farms or snapshots of an existing farm. Follow these steps:

  1. Click Compare Farms button in Documentation ribbon, Compare group.

  2. Select Source and Destination farm that you want to compare. Farms saved in Saved Farms sub folder will be automatically loaded so you can choose one of them from drop down list. You can load the farm from other locations by clicking the button on the right side of the drop down list.

  3. Click Next to compare farms.

Farm Comparison

Results dialog shows the differences between two different farms. The change in each object is indicated by a different color. The upper part of the dialog shows all farm settings in a hierarchical structure, while the bottom half displays differences between currently selected object in the upper half.
